To understand how music is created and how it can be used to represent culture, history and for self-expression.
At Ropsley School we use the Charanaga scheme for teaching music.
Each child has their own login which can be used to access the Yumu part of the site for remote learning. If you can not find your child's login please contact your child's class teacher.
Our Curriculum Intent for Music at Ropsley:
Provide all children with the foundations to become confident musicians through enjoyable, creative learning experiences.
Provide opportunities to perform, listen to, review and evaluate music across a range of historical periods, genres, styles and traditions, including the works of the great composers and musicians.
Allow children to creatively express themselves, fostering a happy and healthy mind and nurture individual talent.
Provide all children with the opportunity to sing; play instruments; listen, appraise and enjoy music.
Encourage children to develop their musical knowledge by understanding and exploring how music is created, produced and communicated.
