Welcome back! We hope you all had a restful Easter break. We have an exciting term ahead with some really interesting topics to learn about, a celebration or two and some awesome PTA events to look out for.
We have some very exciting topics to learn about in Term 5.
Our Reception Class will be 'Walking through the Jungle' and a Newsletter and map showing the learning that is taking place have already been sent home to parents.
Years 1 and 2 are looking at ‘Hot and cold places,’ which has a large geographical focus.
Year 3/4 has a history focus. This term they will learn about famous people from history who were born or lived in Grantham. There are some obvious characters such as Isaac Newton or Margaret Thatcher but a few more surprising ones too.
Year 5/6 are very excited about their topic they will be looking at World War II and focused on what happened in Lincolnshire.
There are some fascinating things to learn about this half-term. Can you guess whom 3/4 are learning about?
Knowledge Organisers will be sent out soon so that you can see more clearly exactly what is being taught in each class. Please do take the time to look at them - or request paper copies. There is a lot of information and homework is detailed on the front page. They will arrive via Class Dojo.

Year 2 pupils Formal Assessments during May 2023
Year 6 pupils Formal assessments: week commencing May 8th, 2023: Please note May 8th is likely to be a bank holiday and we are waiting to hear about how this will impact KS2 SATs
Year 4 Multiplication Check Monday 5 June and Friday 16 June 2023
Year 1 pupils Phonics assessment will take place during the week beginning June 5th, 2023
Holiday absences during consolidation and assessment periods will not be granted as authorised absence except in very exceptional circumstances.
King Charles III Coronation
We will, of course, be celebrating the coronation in school. We have planned a range of fun activities for the children in the morning. Followed by a party on the playground (weather permitting).
We'd love you to join us at 2 pm on Friday 5th May when each class will perform and the choir will sing for you.
The PTA is busily raising money to purchase some new playground equipment for the children to use.
Raffle tickets will be sent home on Friday in the hope that parents will help us to fundraise by selling a few tickets for us. The prizes are excellent. Watch out for the tickets and more information on Friday.
They are hosting a Quiz Night at the Village Hall, see the poster for details. Come and have a go!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Midday Supervisory Assistant to join our busy lunchtime staff team. Duties include supervising groups of children and encouraging them to eat their lunch and to play happily and safely both inside and outdoors.
Salary: Grade 2 SCP 5-6 pro rata (annual salary £2,531- £2,588)
The posts is for 6 hours per week (term time only).
