Standard Attainment Tests
I wanted to update you on the mandatory tests that I mentioned in my previous message. I am pleased to inform you that all the children worked well, and we are incredibly proud of their efforts.
You will find the results of these tests in your child's school report, which is currently being prepared by our teachers. The reports will be sent out to parents on or around July 14th via Class Dojo.
Transition Week
The children, if they are moving classes, will soon be spending some time in their new classrooms, with their new teachers. Transition week will take place during the week beginning Monday 10th of July.
We will then provide an opportunity for you to talk about your child's report or meet their new teacher during our Open Evening. This will take place straight after school on Monday 17th of July.
Many of our current Year 6 pupils will now be preparing for their own transition to Secondary School and will be spending time in their new schools over the next few weeks. We are expecting our new Reception children to join us for some taster sessions too. Year current 5 children will be preparing to become 'buddies' to our new children - it is an exciting time.
Trips
Many trips have already taken place over the last few weeks, including a Farm Trip, Mini Olympics and a range of sporting trips. These are simply a flavour of those we are still looking forward to.
5/6 Residential Trip
Year 5/6 are preparing for the Residential Trip to Norfolk. They leave on June 30th and return on July 2nd. We hope they have an amazing experience.
Conningsby RAF Trip
Year 5/6 will attend a much anticipated trip to RAF Conningsby which will round off their learning about Lincolnshire's role in World War II.
Burghley House
Year 1/2 will be visiting Burghley House to learn about the life of children in Victorian times.
Village Hall Walk
This year, the school is supporting Ropsley Village Hall. We are fundraising in order to help maintain the hall for our local community. Many local community groups meet in the hall, and many events help build that lovely sense of belonging that is so important to us all.
We are going to walk a mile on Wednesday 12th of July at 9.30 am. Children can wear non-school uniform, but they must have sensible footwear for walking, please. They will also need weather-appropriate clothing. This is England, so it could be a raincoat and Wellington boots or sun cream and a hat.
The whole school will be going on the walk and so the school office, in fact the whole school, will be closed whilst we are gone.
We are simply asking for donations that we will pass on the Village Hall on your behalf. We will send out a reminder a little closer to the date.
Leavers' Service
As usual, there will be a service at Church on the last day of term. This Service is for the Parents of our Year 6 pupils. It is always a lovely opportunity to wish them well and say goodbye.
