Ropsley Church of England Primary School

Class Teacher – Key Stage 1 (Year 1/2 Mixed Age Class)
0.6 FTE (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday)
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Mainscale

Ropsley Church of England Primary School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic teacher to join our team in Key Stage 1, teaching a mixed Year 1/2 class for three days each week (Monday to Wednesday). The successful candidate will carry out the duties of a teacher in accordance with the Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about early learning and understands the importance of a play-based, child-centred approach within Key Stage 1. Experience of teaching mixed-age classes is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • To plan and deliver a broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum in line with National Curriculum requirements and the school’s curriculum policies.
  • To create a stimulating, engaging, and nurturing learning environment that supports all pupils to thrive.
  • To value and implement high-quality play-based learning opportunities that support the development of younger learners.
  • To assess, monitor, and support the progress and development of all pupils.
  • To work effectively as part of a team, including directing and supporting Teaching Assistants.
  • To contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold its Christian ethos and values.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a strong understanding of teaching and learning in Key Stage 1
  • Values play-based and experiential learning
  • Ideally has experience of teaching mixed-age classes
  • Has high expectations for all pupils, both academically and pastorally

Teaching Assistant (SEND Support)
Part Time: 5.25 hours per day, Monday to Thursday
Start Date: September 2026
Salary: Grade as per experience (Lincolnshire Pay Scale)

Ropsley Church of England Primary School is seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing dedicated support for a Key Stage 1 pupil, alongside contributing to the wider life of the school through breakfast club and lunchtime provision.

The successful candidate will work closely with a delightful and engaging child who has a love of nature, a rich vocabulary, and a wonderfully imaginative approach to the world. We are looking for someone who can nurture these strengths while providing the structured support she needs to thrive in school.

Key Responsibilities

  • To provide 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, enabling full access to learning and school life
  • To support the development of communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • To work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and external professionals to implement personalised support strategies
  • To contribute to a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
  • To support and supervise pupils during breakfast club and lunchtime, encouraging positive play and social interaction
  • To promote independence while offering appropriate levels of support

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience of supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Is patient, adaptable, and nurturing in their approach
  • Can build strong, trusting relationships with children
  • Values play, creativity, and child-led learning
  • Works effectively as part of a team and communicates well with colleagues and families
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
