11+ Information

11+ information for parents
To be eligible for a place in Year 7 at one of Lincolnshire's grammar schools, children must demonstrate that they have reached the required standard for entry as determined by 11+ testing.

Because the tests are taken in September, most parents will be able to find out whether their children are eligible for a grammar school place before having to complete the Local Authority application forms and having to choose a preferred school.

Key dates can be downloaded below.

Registration forms are sent to Primary Schools for distribution to parents of all Year 5 pupils and uploaded online.

Candidates are asked to take a Verbal Reasoning Test and a Non-Verbal Reasoning Test, in the Grammar School where they have registered, according to the area. Usually for children at school in Ropsley these schools are:

Carre’s Grammar (Sleaford)
Sleaford Girls High School (Sleaford)
The King’s School (Grantham)
Kesteven and Grantham Girls School (Grantham)
